The automobile air conditioning compressor clutch, also known as the compressor magnetic clutch, is designed for cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles. It
primarily comprises a clutch pulley, clutch coil, and clutch plate, all expertly engineered as electromagnetic devices.
How does an AC compressor clutch work?
The air conditioning clutch is intricately installed onto the compressor. A belt attached to the engine supplies essential energy to the compressor, which
turns a rotor connected to a friction hub (plate). Positioned nearby is an electromagnet, known as the clutch coil, which generates a magnetic
field when energized.
Upon activating the automobile air conditioner, an electrical signal is sent to the compressor clutch and electromagnet, thus initiating the compressor operation.
This activates the clutch, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
